Nara Toyosawa Sake Brewery
"High quality alcohol to many people" - that philosophy has never changed. In the 1960s, when ordinary sake was at its peak all over Japan, Toyosawa Yasuo, the fourth generation owner of our brewery, believed that "As the world becomes more prosperous, consumers will want truly good sake." He then focused on brewing pure rice sake. Hoping that "many people will be able to drink high-quality sake," he released a reasonably priced pure rice sake called "Kuromatsu Kisenju," which was well received by many people. This was the result of his commitment to "making high-quality sake that is truly pleasing" from the consumer's perspective. Nara Toyosawa Sake Brewery's passion for sake brewing has not changed to this day. For that reason, since the brewery's founding, they have been committed to brewing sake by hand, with little mechanization. Today, 80% of the sake produced at Nara Toyosawa Sake Brewery is "specified name sake" that is of a grade higher than junmai sake, which is proof of this. While they are single-mindedly committed to brewing by hand, Nara Toyosawa Sake Brewery has also been flexible in responding to the needs of people who love sake. Although we are a small brewery, we take great pride in our sake brewing and will continue to devote ourselves to brewing in the future.
