Momokawa is the sake brewery with the largest shipping volume in Aomori Prefecture. The Oshogura brewery, which bears the name of the brand, is a brewery that was completed in 1973. The brewery boasts solid skills, having won the gold medal at the National New Sake Tasting Competition for 10 consecutive years. This is a special limited edition brand that is not available in general distribution and is only available at liquor stores. Each bottle is a freshly pressed unpasteurized sake with a lot number. It has a fresh aroma reminiscent of koji flowers. The mouthfeel gives the impression of the lightness of new sake, followed by a rich, full-bodied flavor with a faintly bitter umami and acidity in harmony. It has a satisfying, juicy flavor that you will never tire of. This is a bottle that is recommended to be drunk chilled or on the rocks.
Momokawa originated in the Edo period, and began full-scale sake brewing in 1889. At the time of its founding, the brewery used water from the Hyakukokugawa River (the former name of the current Oirasegawa River), so the brewery was named "Momokawa" (Momo River), replacing "100" with the fruit "peach."
Since our founding, we have been brewing sake with the motto of "quality first."
